In honor of the 50th anniversary of the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald, 2025 has been declared the “Year of the Fitz” in Superior, dedicated to the memory of the ship and crew.
Superior Public Library will host a free event on Saturday, January 11 at 12 p.m. to kick off the “Year of the Fitz,” where you can help the Friends of the Fitz in their efforts to recognize Superior as the final port of call for the Edmund Fitzgerald with an historical marker at Barkers Island.
Enjoy free refreshments provided by the Friends of the Library and learn how you can become a part of this effort. For 90 days following the event, all donations to this project will be matched.
