An Evening with Maya Pistola: The New Spirit of Agave

Join us at House of Decant for an intimate evening with Maya Pistola Agavepura, one of the most interesting new names in the world of spirits right now.

Though agave isn’t native to India, it has grown wild across the country’s arid regions for more than 200 years. In 2022, hospitality veterans Rakshay and Radhika Dhariwal saw the potential of Agave Americana thriving in the volcanic soils of Andhra Pradesh and began building something entirely new: an Indian agave spirit distilled in Goa, rooted in craftsmanship, transparency and local sourcing.

Hosted by founder Rakshay Dhariwal, the evening will take guests through Maya Pistola’s award-winning range, from the bright and citrusy Joven to the rich, oak-led Extra Añejo, with notes of spice, vanilla and toasted caramel throughout. Along the way, Rakshay will share the story behind the brand, the process of creating a new category, and why India is becoming an unexpected home for agave.
