In this session, we will warm through the body, with a specially designed sequence to access the fullness of your strength and flexibility. Some juicy twists, hip owners, and focus on the areas youβll need to play with practising some fun arm balances and inversions. From there, we have the luxury of time, to go a little deeper into the practice with some beautifully restorative yin postures, where you can release tension, and build the resonance of a holistic stretch into those areas where you find it harder to access in shorter sessions, rounding off with some deeply calming pranayama breath work. All the while, weβll be sharing in the collective energy whilst facing out to sea! Hereβs a sneak preview of how the afternoon will look: The potency of the spine: warming into and strengthening the back muscles and core, as we flow through a thoughtfully designed vinyasa sequence, providing space for the body to open and flourish in the practice. Arm balance play and practice: you will be guided through a series of arm balances, selectively integrated through the sequence, opening your potential to learn and grow in these postures. Think enough challenge, in a playful and supportive environment, as we explore with stages and options! Youβll come across Bakasana (crow), Parsva Bakasana (side crow), Sirsasana (headstand), Eka Pada Koundinyasana (flying splits), to name just a few. Everyone will be encouraged and supported from where they are in their practice. Deepening into yin: with the warmth and versatility of the practice, the yin sequence will help you nurture a deeper stretch and exploration, whilst grounding and alllowing the parasympathetic nervous system to work its wonders. The perfect way to counter balance the yin and the yang of the afternoon together. Pranayama: we will close with a deeply restful savanna, and before that, some revitalising breath work to help create the calm and integration of the practice, leaving you refreshed as you walk out of our yoga afternoon, our min-retreat, by the sea.
