An Afternoon at OpenStar Technologies

YEPN Wellington is pleased to invite you to an afternoon site visit at OpenStar Technologies - a Wellington-based company working on one of the most ambitious challenges in energy: commercial fusion power.

Fusion has long been the technology that's always "30 years away" — but momentum is building globally, and OpenStar Technologies is among a growing wave of private companies working to change that. This visit will give attendees an inside look at their facility and technology, with the opportunity to hear directly from the team about their approach to fusion, where the science currently stands, and what a future with fusion energy could mean for New Zealand and the world.

The tour will be partly led by some of the young energy professionals working at OpenStar, giving you a chance to connect with peers who are at the coal face of this technology!

The visit will run for approximately one hour from 3:30pm. Please note that this event takes place during work hours and attendees will need to make their own way there (some of us will be hopping on the number 1 bus route at 3:02 from Lambton Quay).
