على مدار خمسة أيام، ينضم الأطفال إلى عالم الورّاقين، في رحلة بين صناعة الورق، وخلط الألوان. يعيش المشاركون تجربة متكاملة تجمع بين زيارة متحف الفن الإسلامي ودار الكتب والتجريب وصناعة منتج فني شخصي، من الورقة الأولى وحتى خياطة الدفتر الأخير.

اليوم الأول | مُقهر
نبدأ بالتعارف وشرح مسار المعسكر، ثم ننطلق في زيارة متنزه الخليفة التراثي، حيث يتعرف المشاركون على مراحل صناعة الصبغات النباتية ويقضون وقتا مرحا في لعبة البحث عن الصبغات، بعد ذلك يتوجه الأطفال إلى مساحة شغل تراث لنصنع الألوان والصبغات الطبيعية يدويًا، ونتعلم كيفية تقهير الورق (تجهيزه للكتابة أو الطباعة)، ونتعلم نظرية الألوان وفلسفتها.
اليوم الثاني | وراق
نبدأ اليوم بزيارة ملهمة إلي دار الكتب حيث يتعرف المشاركون على مراحل صناعة المخطوطات، ويشاهدون نماذج أصلية من كنوز التراث المكتوب. بعد العودة، يصنع الأطفال الورق يدويًا بأيديهم، باستخدام خامات وتقنيات تقليدية كما كان يفعل الوراقون.وفي ختام اليوم نبدأ خطوات التسفير (book binding) – أولى مراحل تحويل الورق إلى دفتر.
اليوم الثالث | ختم
نبدأ اليوم بزيارة إلى متحف الفن الإسلامي ونستكشف الزخارف والنقوش والعناصر البصرية اللي كانت جزء من عالم المخطوطات. بعد الجولة، نعود لنبدأ بورشة الطباعة باللينو (Lino- Cut Printing)، مستلهمين من كل ما شاهدناه ثم في نهاية اليوم نُكمل أعمال التسفير.
اليوم الرابع | خيوط
نبدأ بورشة تطريز يدوي على الورق لبعض الزخارف من متحف الفن الإسلامي، وتصميمات من خيال المشاركين. نتعرف خلال الورشة على الفرق بين التطريز على الورق والقماش ونجرب غرز وتقنيات مختلفة. ثم في الجزء الثاني من اليوم ينهي المشاركين خياطة الدفتر الخاص بهم ليكتمل المنتج!
اليوم الخامس | مخطوط
في اليوم الأخير، يضيف المشاركون لمسة أخيرة بتصميم وتنفيذ غلاف من الجلد الطبيعي مع تعلم تقنيات الرسم والتلوين على الجلد بألوان الأكريلك . وفي نهاية اليوم، يُعدّ الأطفال جورنال شخصي يوثق رحلتهم خلال المعسكر باستخدام فن الكولاج.

Over five days, children will step into the world of the waraqqīn (traditional papermakers), journeying through paper‑making and color‑mixing. Participants enjoy a fully integrated experience: visiting the Museum of Islamic Art and the National Library & Archives, experimenting with materials, and creating a personal art piece from the first sheet of paper all the way to binding their own notebook.

Day 1 | Muqahhar (Ahar Paper)
We kick off with a fun ice-breaker and an overview of the week ahead, then head to Al-Khalifa Heritage Park. There, campers learn how plant-based dyes are made and embark on a playful pigment scavenger hunt. Afterward, everyone gathers in Heritage Works Space to hand-make natural dyes, paper (preparing it for writing or printing), and dive into an entertaining introduction to color theory.
Day 2 | Waraq (Papermaker)
Our adventure continues at Egyptian National Library Museum- Dar Al Kutub, where participants tour the manuscript production process and view priceless heritage pieces. Back at camp, the kids roll up their sleeves to craft handmade paper using traditional tools and techniques. To close the day, we begin the first step of bookbinding by sewing the pages together—turning loose sheets into the beginnings of their own notebooks.
Day 3 | Khatm (Seal)
We kick off with a tour of the Museum of Islamic Art, exploring patterns, motifs, inscriptions, and visual elements integral to the world of manuscripts. After the museum visit, we return to the workshop for a lino-cut printing session inspired by what we’ve seen, then continue bookbinding to advance their journals toward completion.
Day 4 | khuiūt (Threads)
The day opens with a hand-embroidery workshop: participants replicate ornamental designs from the Museum of Islamic Art and embroider their own patterns. In the afternoon, they finish sewing their notebooks in preparation for crafting a cover of genuine leather.
Day 5 | Makhtūt (Manuscript)
On the final morning, participants complete the binding process by attaching their natural-leather covers and embellishing them with their favorite motifs. To conclude, each child assembles a personal journal documenting their entire journey through the camp—from the very first sheet to the finished notebook.
