في قلب القاهرة التاريخية، حيث تختلط الحكايات القديمة بروح المكان، يعود إليكم معسكر أسبوع في الخليفة بنسخته: أبواب القاهرة ليمنح الأطفال تجربة تعليمية حيّة تستكشف جمال العمارة الإسلامية وتراث المدينة.
يأخذ المعسكر المشاركين في رحلة تمتد لخمسة أيام يجمعون فيها بين الجولات الميدانية والألعاب التفاعلية والورش الفنية، ليتعرّفوا على أبواب القاهرة، وعمارة الجوامع، وبيوتها التقليدية، والعناصر والزخارف التي تميز مبانيها.
يتعلم الأطفال بأسلوب مبسّط كيف تشكل النسيج العمراني، ولماذا بُنيت البيوت بفناء داخلي، وكيف تحققت المركزية في المساجد القديمة، وما سر التكرار في الزخارف الإسلامية. ومع أنشطة مثل أبواب القاهرة و كنوز الخليفة وتصميم النماذج الفنية، يعيش الأطفال تجربة ممتعة تصنع رابطًا حقيقيًا بينهم وبين تراث مدينتهم.
يتمكن الأطفال من تجربة اثنين من الأنشطة المبتكرة التي صممها متدربو برنامج صناعة الألعاب التعليمية - أحد برامج مشروع "شغل تراث" - وهما: ألعاب أبواب القاهرة وأسرار خاير بك.

يبدأ اليوم الأول بزيارة ميدانية إلى باب زويلة وباب الفتوح، حيث يكتشف الأطفال دور الأبواب في تخطيط المدينة وحماية الأحياء، ويتعرفون على أهمية الأبواب في الحركة داخل القاهرة القديمة. يتضمن اليوم لعبة أبواب القاهرة، أنشطة تفاعلية لبناء نموذج مصغر للمدينة، وتصميم مدينة داخل شكل أحد أبواب القاهرة، مما يساعد الأطفال على فهم مفهوم النسيج العمراني بطريقة عملية وممتعة.
اليوم الثاني: قبة لاجين - الاثنين 17 أغسطس 2026.
يركز اليوم الثاني على جامع أحمد بن طولون لفهم هندسة المباني الإسلامية، ومفهوم الكتلة والمركزية، وكذلك التعرف على المواد التقليدية في البناء مثل الطوب والطين. تشمل الأنشطة تجربة عملية لبناء نموذج لقبة صغيرة، مناقشة المواد وطرق البناء التقليدية، ورشة تعليمية لعناصر العمارة الأساسية مثل الأعمدة والأقواس والمآذن بالإضافة للعبة البحث عن كنز أحمد بن طولون، لتعزيز فهم الأطفال لكيفية تصميم المباني الدينية بشكل متوازن ووظيفي.

يختتم المعسكر بزيارة مجموعة خاير بك للتعرف على الزخارف التقليدية وفهم فكرة التكرار والتناغم في الفن الإسلامي من خلال لعبة ترس مشكل. تشمل الأنشطة تصميم نمط زخرفي جديد، ورشة قشرة خشبية، وألعاب تعليمية لفهم التكرار والتناغم في الزخارف، مما يتيح للأطفال ممارسة الإبداع الفني وربط التعلم التاريخي بالتصميم الشخصي، لتكون تجربة تعليمية ممتعة وملهمة.

Experience Historic Cairo like never before!
Al-khalifa Mini camp is back with its Gates of Cairo edition, offering a hands-on adventure into the world of Islamic architecture.
Over five exciting days, children will step out of the classroom and into the streets. Combining exploration with creativity, they will discover how the city was built—from its massive gates and mosques to its traditional houses—learning through play, art, and direct interaction with heritage.
Children will get to experience two innovative activities designed by trainees of the Educational Game Design Program—part of the Heritage Works project: the Gates of Cairo and Secrets of Khayr bek games.

The first day begins with a field visit to Bab Zuweila and Bab al-Futuh, where children explore the role of city gates in urban planning and neighborhood protection, and learn about their importance in movement within historic Cairo. Activities include the Cairo Gates game, interactive exercises to build a miniature city model, and designing a city within the shape of one of Cairo’s gates, helping children understand the concept of urban fabric in a fun and hands-on way.
Day 2: Lajin’s Dome - Monday, August 17, 2026
The second day focuses on Ahmad Ibn Tulun Mosque to understand Islamic building techniques, the concept of mass and centrality, and traditional construction materials such as brick and clay. Activities include a hands-on dome-building exercise, discussion of materials and traditional construction methods, a workshop on basic architectural elements like columns, arches, and minarets, and the Tulun Treasure Hunt game, reinforcing children’s understanding of designing religious buildings in a balanced and functional way.
Day 3: Al-Khalifa Houses -Tuesday, August 18, 2026
Children explore Bayt al-Kritliyya to learn about traditional house design and its various spaces, including inner courtyards and reception rooms, understanding why these spaces exist. Activities include the Bubble Zoning game to divide spaces, designing a miniature traditional house model, and discussing the differences between traditional and modern houses, with a focus on natural ventilation and privacy, giving children a practical understanding of traditional home life.
Day 4: Al- Khalifa Treasures -Wednesday, August 19, 2026
The fourth day is dedicated to a tour along Al-Khalifa Street to discover architectural elements characteristic of different historical periods, such as arches, decorative windows, and plaster and wooden ornamentation. Activities include the “Treasures of Al-Khalifa” discovery game, a collage workshop to create a panel combining architectural and traditional craft elements, and discussions on the differences between traditional and modern buildings, helping children enhance their observation skills and understand the impact of ornamentation on the beauty and function of structures.
Day 5: Secrets of Khayer Bek - Thursday, August 20, 2026
Designed and produced by: Batool Khalifa and Marwan Mazen.
The camp concludes with a visit to Khayer Bek Complex to explore traditional decorations and understand the concept of repetition and harmony in Islamic art through the Ters Meshkal game. Activities include designing a new decorative pattern, a wooden veneer workshop, and educational games to understand repetition and harmony in ornamentation, allowing children to practice artistic creativity and connect historical learning with personal design for an enjoyable and inspiring experience.
