This Afro-Cuban Dance program, featuring live music, is a continuation of our Afro-Cuban Community program in Rotterdam. It serves as a healing and spiritual process, helping students and lovers of Cuban culture understand the history, energy, music, and emotions that flow from the heart of Cuban folklore. We delve deeper into the connection between music, soul, dance, mind, and body.
I believe that the Cuban, Caribbean, and African heritage is so rich and unique that it must be preserved in its purest form. It’s essential to be honest and loyal when dancing Cuban folklore, which is why this journey is both healing and spiritual. This is also the reason I work with live music.
I guide my students to truly understand the meaning and messages behind each movement and style, encouraging them to embrace the joy found in these dances. It’s about moving from within—“dancing less, and moving more.”
