This course is designed for dedicated young artists aged 8-13 with prior artistic experience or a demonstrated passion for the visual arts. The Advanced Youth Art Class at Picket Fence Art Studio provides a curriculum that refines technical skills, deepens conceptual understanding, and encourages critical thinking essential for developing a distinctive artistic voice.
Fall Session Focus: Advanced observational skills, nuanced value manipulation, sophisticated color theory, and principles of dynamic composition.
Learning Outcomes: Students will master precise shading with diverse drawing media (charcoal, varied pencils), develop complex color schemes using acrylics, and apply foundational principles of one- and two-point perspective to create compelling compositions.
Key Projects: In-depth observational still life with emphasis on chiaroscuro, multi-layered acrylic paintings exploring complementary/analogous schemes, and the creation of intricate linocut Printmaking designs.
Ages: 8-13
Class Time: Mondays, 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM
Term Length: 10 weeks per term
