About this Event
Please join us for this two-day advanced Natural Dye Workshop, a part of our 2025 Natural Dye Series with fibers artist Madelaine Corbin!
Dates: August 30th and 31st, 2025
Time: 10 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Location: Pine Meadow Ranch Center for Arts & Agriculture
This two-day workshop will work with dye plants grown at Pine Meadow Ranch and 100% natural fiber yardage. This project pattern is offered in a one-size-fits-most pattern, with adjustability and customization option including: pockets, straps, creative details, and other possibilities. Attendees of this workshop will leave with one finished textile project and a natural dye journal of swatches documenting the interaction between fiber type, dye type, and dye interactions.
Workshop Highlights:
- Creating Color with Natural Dye: Participants will spend the first day harvesting dyestuffs, building dye pots, brewing rich color options, and dyeing their project material.
- Pattern Design and Customization: Participants will spend the second day sewing their naturally dyed fabric into a functional apron. Using dye samples, participants will be able to customize their design to create a uniquely stylized garment.
Optional Materials to Bring:
- Sewing maching if you have one, hand sewists are also welcome!
- Past natural dye projects to incorporate into your apron
All other materials will be provided.
No natural dye experience required.
