Adult Art Club X Slow Bloom: Therapeutic Card Making
About this Event
In Collaboration with Slow Bloom: Paper Social & Market @ Causal Poet Library
We are bringing the AAC out of the studio and reaching out to more people.
What is Adult Art Club (AAC)?
AAC is a low-pressure creative space for adults who’ve been craving to make things — but keep putting it off.
Maybe you:
- Have lots of saved ideas but never start
- Don’t have the materials or space at home
- Feel rusty, unsure, or intimidated by “art classes”
- Just want to make something quietly alongside other people
AAC is not a class, workshop, or critique session.
It’s a relaxed, lightly facilitated open studio where you can show up as you are, pick something to try, and start.
What happens during the session - Therapeutic Card Making
You arrive.
We help you get settled and, if you want, suggest an easy place to begin.
- Choose to start somewhere.
- Make something with your hands
- Space out, focus, or chat a little — totally optional
Session Outline
- Introduction (15 minutes)
- Collage Creation (30 minutes)
- Reflection and Sharing (30 minutes)
There’s no fixed outcome, no expectations, and no need to “finish” anything.
We’re here to lower the barrier between wanting to create and actually starting.
Who is this for?
AAC is for:
- Adults who miss being creative
- Beginners, returners, and “I’m-not-an-art-person” people
- Anyone who wants a calm, supportive space to make things
No pressure to talk.
No pressure to be good.
No pressure to produce anything impressive.
Ticket price: $38
Your ticket covers:
- All shared art materials and tools
- Reflective sharing as a group
- A 75 mings where you don’t have to plan, prepare, or clean up
Just show up and create.
