About This Workshop
This 90-minute + introductory workshop is an invitation to look at your health through a different lens — one rooted in over 2,000 years of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
We begin with a question — 'What does health mean to you?' — and build from there. By the end of the session, you will have explored the TCM framework, experienced five essential oils through guided sensory exploration, practised self-applied acupressure at four key points, and taken home two practical self-care protocols.
The Session Covers
● What health means — a group discussion grounded in your own experience
● Qi, Yin and Yang, and the meridian system — an accessible overview
● Five essential oils and their TCM properties — thermal nature, meridian affinity, and application
● Four acupressure points, self-applied: LI4, PC6, ST36, and KD1
● Two self-care protocols for stress and digestive support

Suitable For
Complete beginners — no prior knowledge of TCM, acupressure, or essential oils is needed. This workshop is equally suitable for those exploring complementary health approaches for the first time and those considering acupuncture who want to understand the approach before booking.
About the Facilitator
John Philbin initially trainred in aromatherapy and TCM diagnostics, graduating in 1994, before going on to qualify as an acupuncturist. He has spent over 30 years in clinical practice across London, working in private clinics, NHS hospitals, and hospices, and is a committed advocate for making Traditional Chinese Medicine accessible to everyone.
John runs community acupuncture clinics and has led integrative health projects in stroke rehabilitation and cancer support. He brings the same warm, practical approach to his teaching.
In this workshop, John draws on both his clinical background and his original training in aromatherapy to guide participants through the foundations of TCM, hands-on acupressure, and sensory exploration with essential oils —leaving you with tools you can use straight away.
