Description: Linnea Pettitt will discuss the mission of the CAMICO Mutual Insurance Company and her work for the company as a Loss Prevention Specialist. As a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Linnea Pettit will discuss the different areas of the public accounting profession and the process of obtaining a CPA certificate. She will discuss the importance of ethics in the public accounting profession, and the sorts of skills and character traits needed to succeed in public accounting. She will discuss the personal challenges that she has faced in her career in accounting and how she has overcome those challenges. She will offer career advice to students interested in accounting. This presentation is part of the Accounting at SUNY Poly Lecture Series hosted by the Center for Business and Applied Ethics.
