Abbey House Heritage Open Days - Evening Talk
We're celebrating this year's theme of Everyday Histories with a free talk from Francis Thyer and Nic Phillips – ‘The People of Abbey House’.
Abbey House overlooks the ruins of Glastonbury Abbey, and was built as a gentleman's residence in the 1820s with the view in mind. This evening talk will provide an illuminating glimpse into the history of the house and the everyday lives of the people who lived and worked there: From its construction by the Reeves-Porches, its extension by the illustrious Austin family, through to it’s use as a Retreat House for the local diocese.
Talk Starts: 7pm
Admission is free, but booking is essential. Refreshments will be available.
