An evening of ritual for Autumn Equinox with Welsh myth, storytelling & meditative sound…
About this Event

"She wants to be flowers" are words from the 1968 book "The Owl Service" by Alan Garner who like many creatives was inspired by an ancient Welsh story of wild magic, owls and flowers....

Tonight we journey into this ancient story from the fourth branch of the Mabinogi, a collection of Welsh medieval tales, where we meet with Blodeuwedd, a woman created from flowers and transformed into an owl.
There is much to explore within the wild magic and symbolism of Blodeuwedd's story & Alan Garner's retelling. Contemplation of Blodeuwedd continues in the modern day, with her recognition as deity of duality and female agency.

Our evening will begin with an infusion of Meadowsweet, one of the flowers from which Blodeuwedd was created, as we drink to her Welsh roots and the Genius Loci/ spirit of place of the land we will be journeying to.

As you lie down and listen you will be taken on a journey of story leading into an extended sequence of meditative sound exploring the power of flowers & owls as totems of transformation as we approach the turning of the wheel and the balance of light and dark at Equinox...
