Abbey House is once again taking part in Heritage Open Days, England's largest festival of history and culture, as we open our doors and invite you on a free guided tour of this unique historic property.
On the tour, you'll learn about the various inhabitants of this 19th century mansion over the years, discover some of its hidden features, and find out what we use the house for today!
Each tour lasts approx. 45 minutes, with further time to visit our exhibition to see and hear about the house's past, or come and watch some carpentry with our costumed Victorian carpenter. Refreshments will be on sale to enjoy with a view of the abbey ruins.
This is an exciting opportunity to explore a part of the abbey estate not normally open to the public.
Tour Times
Tours run every hour on the hour across both days, at 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm.
Admission is free, accessible, and by timed tour only. As there are limited spaces available for each tour, we recommend booking in advance. Walk-ups may be accepted on the day if there is space remaining.
Getting Here
Please note, entry to Abbey House is via Chilkwell Street (postcode BA6 8DH), not Glastonbury Abbey.
