The official theme for May 2026 Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month— “Power in Unity: Strengthening Communities Together” — is all about coming together, uplifting our stories, and building bridges that create lasting impact. In that spirit, API Forward, Filipino American NW Association, and FilAmFest Portland—Oregon’s first Filipino American festival—are teaming up to bring you nearly a dozen vibrant cultural, social, and educational events throughout the month of May.
From a special proclamation with the City of Portland Mayor’s Office to a screening of the award-winning Filipino film Song of the Fireflies, a dynamic speakers panel, the musical production Re-Rite by Portland Revels, and a lively food fest and fashion show—there’s something for everyone to experience, learn from, and celebrate.
