Exhibition Artist-in-Residence Ashwini Bhat’s ongoing project Assembling California grew from hours wandering the landscape surrounding her northern California home. Inspired by her deep roots in the land, join Bhat and Wisconsin Master Naturalist Chrysta Beyer for a guided hike at Willow Creek Preserve.
Willow Creek Preserve is a 143-acre urban oasis, saved from development by Glacial Lakes Conservancy (GLC), a land trust. On this hike, we will learn about the background of GLC, the property, restoration goals, and species information.
We will meet at the Willow Creek Preserve parking lot, located at the intersection of S. Taylor Drive and New Jersey Ave. This is an easy-to-moderate hike with some hills. The hike will last approximately sixty to ninety minutes.
