You are warmly invited to join us in the bookshop to celebrate a Victorian Christmas, to coincide with the turning on of the Kingsgate Christmas Lights.
5:00pm: Victorian storytelling, upstairs in the bookshop
6:00pm: Turning on of the Kingsgate Lights, with the Pilgrims’ School Chamber Choir
6:30pm: A Victorian Christmas with Lucinda Dickens Hawksley, back in the bookshop
Lucinda, a historian and descendant of Charles Dickens, explores the fascinating Victorian traditions that help to make our yuletides merry.
The shop will be open for pre-Christmas shopping until 7:30pm. Those appropriately dressed in Victorian attire might dare to ask Ebenezer Scrooge for a generous discount!
