Every recipe has a story. Every table has a history.
This September, the Harrodsburg Historical Society is bringing back a beloved tradition—the Tasting Party—with a new focus on preserving the recipes, food traditions, and memories of Mercer County.
We’re inviting our community to share a treasured family recipe and the story behind it. Maybe it’s your grandmother’s famous pie, a casserole that appeared at every family reunion, a holiday favorite, an old canning recipe, or simply a dish that tastes like home.
🥧 And if you’re able, make it and bring it with you! Guests are encouraged to prepare their submitted recipe and bring a dish for everyone to sample. Bringing food is not required to participate—we want your recipes and stories, too!
Throughout the afternoon, we’ll taste dishes, swap recipes, and hear some of the stories behind the foods that have brought Mercer County families together for generations.

Recipes submitted by Sunday, August 23 will be considered for inclusion in a special 2026 Heritage Recipe Collection prepared for the event.
Submission forms will be available at Morgan Row, or you can submit your recipe through our online form (Link below and on our website).
