About this Event
Most runners in Windsor and Maidenhead don't get injured because they trained too hard.
They get injured because they trained without a plan.
Every spring, mileage creeps up, ambition kicks in, and somewhere between week 4 and week 8 something starts to grumble.
Calf. Achilles. Knee. Hip.
It feels like bad luck.
It's usually poor structure.
This workshop exists to change that.
What we'll cover
Dan Michael (Chiropractor, Active Health Clinics) and Nick Riding (Accredited Strength and Conditioning Coach) will run a practical, small-group session covering:
Training structure that actually works
Nick will break down how to build a proper training block with base, build, recovery and peak phases so your body adapts instead of accumulating fatigue. Running hard when you feel good and backing off when you don't isn't a plan. It's reacting.
Where injuries actually come from
Soft tissue injuries are predictable. Calf strains track with speed work. Achilles irritation follows rapid mileage increases. Knee pain appears when hip control can't keep up with volume. The issue isn't tightness. It's capacity. Dan will show you how to spot these patterns before they become problems.
The mechanics that matter
Not a complete overhaul of how you run. Just the subtle inefficiencies that leak force over thousands of steps and compound over a season.
Targeted self-care
Not random foam rolling. Not an internet routine. Specific work, applied at the right point in your training cycle.
Who this is for
Runners and triathletes training for a marathon, half marathon or triathlon this year who want to get to race day in one piece.
What this isn't
This is not a lecture. It's not generic advice. And there's nothing to buy at the end. Just a practical session, capped at 12 runners, because that's where nuance is possible.
Bring your training plan. Bring your questions. Bring your race goals.
If you want to train through the season instead of constantly managing niggles, this is for you.
