The Yamas and Niyamas are the ethical guidelines and principles of the eight-limbed yoga path. They guide us in how we relate to ourselves, others, and the world around us. Often referred to as the first two limbs of Yoga, these teachings are meant to be embodied on and off the mat,This 5-week drop-in series is designed to help you begin the New Year with intention and grounded self-awareness. Each Saturday, we’ll explore one Yama and one Niyama, in the traditional order they appear in the Yoga Sutras, through an embodied and accessible approach for all levels of practice, including beginners.
*For our third drop-in class on January 31st, we will focus on Bhramacharya and Svadhyaya, the fourth Yama and Niyama.
Each class includes:
~Interactive Lecture
~Mudra, Meditation, and Breathwork
~Intentionally themed Asana (poses/movement)
~Off-the-Mat Practices for the rest of the week.
~A printed informational handout to take home each week
This series is ideal for all levels, whether you’re newer to Yoga philosophy or looking to deepen your existing practice. The Yamas and Niyamas create a supportive framework for sustainable growth and help us move through the year with more awareness, integrity, and alignment.
$15 drop-in per class (no registration required).
