About This Event
Looking forward to a rewarding mountain hike without an extreme climb? This scenic outing is an excellent choice for novice, intermediate and advanced hikers (if you want to get in some extra miles). This is a loop hike beginning at Long Valley Ranger Station (approximately 8,400 ft.), the trail ascends gently, approximately 600 vertical feet over 2.1 miles, meandering through open pine forest with grand vistas of the surrounding high peaks, granite rock formations and small creeks. Upon arrival at the junction of the Long Valley Creek trail for the return to the Ranger Station, the hike leaders will offer an option to continue another mile to the Seasonal Ranger Station and Round Valley Meadow to briefly languish under the open sky and lush green of the meadow. This must be a unanimous decision of all hikers.
Feeling inspired? Round Valley is also the gateway to the summit of Mt. San Jacinto and other scenic destinations in the State Wilderness Park. Your hike leaders will be happy to discuss where these gateway trails can take you.
Whether you’re here for the scenery, the fresh mountain air, the wildlife, or simply the pleasure of walking with others, your experienced leaders Dori Lienhard and Gene Irvine will help make this a hike for all reasons
