This hike is definitely not for beginner hikers! This hike is for well experienced hikers! The plan is to do 22 miles this day. We will start at sea level & hike up to Mt Jacinto. Water is available 10 miles up. From there it's another 6 miles up to the peak. Once we reach the peak we'll take a good break. We will then hike back down to the tram 6 miles. We will take the tram down. Where the tram drops us off, it will still be 6 miles from the trailhead. We will drive back down to trailhead from there. I am posting this hike early to give everyone enough preparation time to build up our cardio! I advise everyone to use a sauna & do more cardio to prepare for the hike. This hike will be subject to day of event change if needed due to extreme heat. I recommend bringing more than enough water for the 1st 10 miles, 3-5 Ltrs, electrolytes (powder, cliff chew bloks, or tablets). Bring enough food 1.5-2 meals. There is food available at the tram station when we will decend. L citrulline or L arginine (found in pre workout drinks) help for high elevations, as well as peanuts. They increase nitric oxide levels. Bring trekking poles if you prefer to use.
