We invite you to a rare and profound gathering with the Mamos and Zagas, the spiritual leaders of the Kogi, Wiwa, Arhuaco, and Kankuama tribes of the High Sierra Mountains of Colombia. These Elders are the keepers of an unbroken lineage of Indigenous wisdom from the Tayrona people, often referred to as the Elder Brothers of humanity. The Mamos (Indigenous holy men) and Zagas (female priestesses) are trained from early childhood in healing modalities, sacred ceremony, divination, and planetary stewardship. They hold the responsibility of maintaining balance between humanity, nature, and the spiritual realms, offering guidance for the well-being of the Earth and all living beings.
This once-in-a-lifetime gathering will include storytelling, music, sacred ceremony, healing, and blessings for participants, the Earth, and our sacred waterways. The Elders will share teachings rooted in ancestral memory, offering insight into how humanity can live in right relationship with the natural world during this pivotal moment on the planet.
Due to the sensitivity of the work and at the request of the Mamos and Zagas, attendance is intentionally limited, allowing for a respectful, intimate, and energetically coherent experience.
Guided by the Elders
We will be guided throughout the day by two Mamos and two Zagas, including:
Mamo Sewigu Kakamukwa (Mamo Rodrigo) β Lead Elder
From the Kakamukwa lineage, with Mamos in every generation beyond his great-great-grandfather, Mamo Rodrigo bridges ancestral wisdom and the modern world. Before his ordination, he served his community as a Maestro, educator, healer, storyteller, musician, and ceremonial artisan. In 2007, he founded the first bilingual school within the Reservation to preserve cultural identity while teaching Spanish, mathematics, and traditional knowledge. He has also served as a nurse in public health campaigns and continues to act as an intercultural bridge between worlds.
The Elders will speak in their native language (primarily Spanish), and the entire program will be translated into English.
