About this Event

This gathering is a conversation with Jemar Tisby and Jim Wallis exploring helpful suggestions for navigating the problematic times we are experiencing during this politically divided window in America's history. It is for clergy in Tennessee and Kentucky and can accomodate 125 attendees. Coffee, juice and muffins will be provided. This event is free!


Jemar Tisby is the author of the NY Times bestselling book, The Color of Compromise: The Truth about the American Church's Complicity in Racism, How To Fight Racism, How to Fight Racism: Young Reader's Edition, and his newest release, The Spirit of Justice: True Stories of Faith, Race, and Resistance. Jemar is the co-host of the "Pass the Mic" podcast, holds a PhD in History, and speaks nationwide on the topics of racial justice, U.S. history and Christianity. Tisby is also a Professor of History at Simmons College of Kentucky, a private, historically black college in Louisville Kentucky.


Rev. Jim Wallis is the inaugural holder of the Chair in Faith and Justice at the McCourt School of Public Policy and founding director of the Georgetown University Center of Faith and Justice, the founder of Sojourners, a progressive Christian grassroots movement that advocates spirituality and social change and served on President Obama's White House Advisory Council on Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships. A public theologian, Wallis is a New York Times bestselling author of 12 books, including God's Politics and his newest book, The False White Gospel: Rejecting Christian Nationalism, Reclaiming True Faith, and Refounding Democracy. Washingtonian Magazine named Wallis one of the 500 most influential people shaping policy in DC.
