Discover how we are ‘Stewarding Nature and Heritage' - a core theme of URA’s Master Plan 2025 - in Tanjong Pagar, on this special tour!
About this Event

Explore Tanjong Pagar’s evolving landscape, where 60 years of breakthrough sustainable urban development have transformed a bustling maritime heart into a premier model of a City in Nature!

Witness how we have overcome challenges to seamlessly weave lush greenery through built heritage and high-rises - utilising cascading vertical gardens and climate-resilient planning strategies to cool the precinct and enhance biodiversity. It is a powerful testament to Singapore’s journey from a gritty port town to a global leader in sustainability, proving that through visionary stewardship, we can build a liveable, green future while retaining our history - even in the densest of urban environments!

About the Chinatown Heritage Walks

Thank you for your interest in joining this tour! This is part of our series of weekly walks to the four districts within the Chinatown Conservation Area.

A collaboration between the URA and Friends of the Museums (FOM), these two-hour walks are led by FOM docents. Besides learning about the rich history of Chinatown, you will also discover how our conservation efforts are an integral part of URA’s commitment to sustainable urban development, shaping the distinctive, liveable and endearing city we live in today.

Through these walks, you will also gain a better appreciation of the challenges in balancing different needs for land and the innovative solutions that we have adopted to overcome them, in tandem with URA's efforts to plan sustainably across our social, economic and environmental realms.
