This is an internationally sanctioned event meaning you can attempt European and World records as well as British. THIS IS THE ONLY GATEWAY TO SINGLE LIFT QUALIFICATION FOR AWPC AND WPC WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2025 for the TOP 3 in each class to represent Great Britain unless you are a reigning WPC or AWPC World Champion 2024.

WHERE? The FitXpo, Bolton Arena, Arena Approach, Horwich, Bolton BL6 6LB
What Time? Start Time 10am each day
Weigh in times: 10am to 12 noon and 3pm to 4pm for 24 hour weigh in. There is NO on the day weigh in.
What is the split?
SATURDAY 24 May:
All equipped BPU and ABPU lifters - BP+DL (including Bomb Squad)
ABPU Men Raw BP+DL
BPU Women Raw BP+DL
SUNDAY 25 May:
BPU Men Raw BP+DL
ABPU Women Raw BP+DL
THIS IS AN INTERNATIONALLY SANCTIONED EVENT
What does this mean? Well, it means we have paid for in international sanction license so that you can take World Records, both WPC and AWPC. It means we fly in international referees as there must ALWAYS be an international referee from another country on platform. It also means that WR’s can be attempted and taken at this event, so get checking the world record records on the World Powerlifting Congress web site. You can, obviously, also attempt British Records.

Some information is always likely to change at Expo events, this usually is timings of entry, location of our competition area, tickets, weigh in area and so on. When we run events at Expos, the Expo organiser is beholden to the Expo centre, so they tend to change their minds due to logistics which shift, they then tell the Expo organiser which is then filtered down to us. Some information we have now but ALL the information about times and splits and schedules, weigh in times are all determined by us, so these do not change.
COACHES TICKETS AND FOR YOUR SUPPORTERS
All competitors get a pass or the day they are lifting included in their entry. You will be given your pass when you weigh in. Coaches and supporters will need a ticket.

WEIGH INS:
As this is an internationally sanctioned event, no on the day weigh ins are permitted. Where the weigh ins will be held, we will be advised of closer to the time. Weigh in times are posted on the web site, the Facebook Page and are regularly re-posted. Please DO NOT contact us to ask when they are!
ACCESS TO THE VENUE FOR COMPETITORS ON THE DAY OF COMPETITION
You will have access to the venue from 8am onward on your competing day. The entrance and where you go for athlete access, we will have closer to the time and probably a few days before. This information will go on the FB event page.
BOMB SQUAD
The bomb squad is a specialist class ONLY run by the A/BPU. It is a normal equipped only bench only specialist flight with the emphasis on lifters going for numbers in the true fashion of equipped lifting where they may bomb. This is a no judgement environment where lifters can try out new kit or get valuable platform time in a competition environment and take risks on their numbers amongst other equipped lifters.
For those using single, multiply and unlimited shirts - you are able to qualify for World Championships 2025 and take British, European and World records at this competition and GO FOR IT! If you are using a sling shot in the bomb squad, then you can ONLY use a sling shot at Bomb Squad competitions and take Bomb Squad records at British records only. This is NOT a category in the WPC.
The overall winner of the Bomb Squad is based on points which include gender and age points - so it’s anyone's guess!
The top 3 in all classes apart from sling shot will qualify to represent Great Britain at the AWPC or WPC World Championships 2025.

OFFICIAL BRITISH TEAM KIT
Full team kit is available from the 1st February and is ordered in batches. You will not receive your team kit until 10 days after the batch closing date. The first closing date is the 1st April with estimated arrival to you by the 20th April. The second is the 1st May with arrival by the 20th May.
