5K Run/Walk for Ukrainian Refugees in Poland

Come together to support Ukrainian refugees in Poland by participating in this meaningful event. Whether you're a seasoned runner or just enjoy a leisurely walk, this event is open to all. Let's show our solidarity and make a difference for those in need. Lace up your shoes and join us on the track!

The 5K Run/Walk is co-hosted by the Polish Student Association and Hoos for Ukraine. It will take place on UVa Grounds beginning and ending at Chemistry Drive. All proceeds from the event will go to support the Polish Red Cross, which has a special fund earmarked for Ukrainian refugees living in Poland.

An award will be given to the top three male and female finishers. Top finishes will receive an aquarium with a sunk Moskva battleship, a piece of a Russian tank turned into a keychain, and a plush Patron dog. Second prize winners will receive the same without the battleship. Third price winners will receive the plush Patron dog. Additional prizes will be auctioned off to help with our fundraising efforts.

T-shirts and wrist bands with the Polish and Ukrainian national colors are included in the price of the race. Shirt sizes will only be guaranteed until 9/14/24. Prices will increase on 9/14/24 by $5 and registration will go until 9/27/24 online.

The race will start at 9am sharp so be sure to arrive early to grab your bib. We will send a map of the 5k course as the date gets closer. Roads will not be closed so we would like to emphasize safety procedures of sticking to the sidewalk and being aware of vehicles and pedestrians. Race volunteers will be situated at large road crossings to aid in keeping everyone safe. Water, sports drinks, and snacks will be provided but we also recommend that you bring your own water bottle and/or snacks.
