A one-day festival of events celebrating our local Rivanna Trail, a 20-mile loop around Cville. Join us on the trail and at the after party!
About this Event

Loop de Ville Fest is a full day of guided group hikes, walks, runs, bike rides and accessible strolls on the Rivanna Trail, followed by an after party and outdoor concert.

This is your chance to experience a guided and supported hike, run, or bike on the ~20 mile loop of trails that encircle our city!

Don't want to do 20 miles? No problem! We’ve got shorter options that only cover small sections of the loop. Join for what you want and nothing more. Some folks are even doing team relays!

All events are FREE with an optional donation and you do not have to do a trail event to enjoy the concert! This year's after party entertainment features Ebony Groove with DJ Double U!

Looking for a different activity? Visit to view all options and register.

TICKETS ARE NOT REQUIRED FOR AFTER PARTY ENTRY!!

ABOUT THE HIKE

Distance: ~ 20 miles.

Hiking time: approximately 9 hours. This is variable due to rest stops and hiking speeds. We are not out to set any time record, but will keep a steady pace.

We hike around the City in a counterclockwise direction, using road walks and detours where necessary.

Start: The Rivanna River Company is located at 1518 E High St (behind the new Hogwaller Brewing). Parking is available along Riverdale Drive and in the Burnley-Moran Elementary school parking lot, across High Street from our meeting point (map below). We leave from the RTF tent promptly at 8:30 am.

Finish: We'll end at the Rivanna River Company about 5:00 pm, in time for the concert. Beer and food can be purchased at Hogwaller Brewing all afternoon. Local beer, wine, and food trucks will be on-site at Rivanna River Co. starting at 12:00 pm, with the concert beginning at 4:30pm!

Bailout Points / Sag Wagon: We plan to have a sag wagon making regular rounds to all Cheer Zones. If you get in over your head (or just wanna do less mileage), you're welcome to wait for the sag at any of the 7 on-route Cheer Zones to catch a ride back to Rivanna River Co. The sag wagon will be able to accomodate bikes.

What to bring: boots or sturdy shoes; clothes appropriate for “urban wilderness” hiking and for weather conditions; stream crossing shoes or sandals; water; snacks; personal needs. There are a number of rock-hops and smaller streams to cross, so participants may want to bring a pair of water-safe shoes or sandals.

Important note: This is a strenuous hike - not technically difficult, but it's a long day. We will have a number of volunteers in our group and over the course of the day may fall into faster and slower groups, but please assess your endurance and break in your boots before the hike day.
