Please join us on August 6, from 5:30pm to 7:00pm at The Osgood (614 Center Avenue - Bay City). This FREE event is being hosted by Compassionate Navigation (Malynnda Stewart, PhD) where the topic will be, "From Reactivity to Regulation: Practical Communication Tools for Mental Health Professionals".
More about the topic: Difficult conversations are not just emotional. They are physiological, relational, and deeply shaped by how safe people feel in the moment. Join communication researcher, mediator, and patient advocate Malynnda Stewart for an interactive session exploring the STEADY Framework and the Regulated Conversation Model. Learn practical tools for navigating emotional flooding, defensiveness, resistance, and high-stress conversations with greater clarity, regulation, and connection. This session blends communication theory, trauma-informed practice, conflict mediation, and interpersonal neurobiology to provide immediately usable strategies for mental health professionals working in emotionally complex environments.
The GLBR Mental Health Provider Connect Series is designed to bring our community of providers together - across disciplines, settings, and counties - to strengthen collaboration and support one another. Hosted quarterly at rotating organizations throughout the region, each session features a guest speaker highlighting key issues in mental health, open discussion, and the opportunity to earn continuing education credits, when available.
Together, we’re building stronger connections that enhance care, reduce isolation, and promote wellbeing for those who serve others.
