3D Design / Engineering Summer Camp (High School Students)
About this Event
As a young high school student seeking to separate themselves in a world that's rapidly evolving, its very important to continuously develop vital life skills. By attending our summer design, coding, and building camp, we provide students with high end knowledge and experience in engineering design fields. In a rapidly evolving world, 3D design, coding, and automation are becoming some of the most valuable skills for young students. This is why we have a focus on teaching applications like SolidWorks, Arduino, TinkerCAD, and AutoCAD for these young students. Some examples of what students will be able to do after attending our summer camp include the following:
1) 3D Model / Design 3D objects such as a car body, drone, or other consumer gadgets
2) Write simple/intermediate code to automate tasks with use of a circuitboard
3) Build / Assemble various designs by hand
4) Gain insightful knowledge of engineering design!
Students will be provided with their own personal arduino coding kit (valued at $100) after signing up which they can use to create their own projects and continue their coding development outside of class hours. After fully registering, students also gain access to a full online library of over 100 SolidWorks/Arduino assignments, tutorials, and exercises which they can complete to separate themselves even more in a competitive industry.
Students will be constantly improving their skills in each of our areas of focus as our team of qualified UBC engineering students will guide and teach the students along the entire process. Sessions will be held bi-weekly at Thompson River's University by a group dedicated to creating a fun learning environment and inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurs!
Summer Camp Dates:
Cohort 1: July 1 - 31
Cohort 2: August1- 31
Meeting times and classrooms are still TBD, after signing up students will be provided with more detail on times, dates, costs, and learning objectives. Any questions you may have can also be answered by signing up, our team will follow up with you within 1-2 days of registration.
Our 3D Design / Coding Summer Engineering Camp provides students access to 10 in-person lessons (either in July or August) depending on which cohort the student pursues. To register, students must first complete the free sign up, where our team will then follow up to continue registration.
