Join Strum each Wednesday Night Apr29-Sep09, 2026 for an evening of racing, socializing & dinner. Start/finish near the new RVYC breakwater, racing in the vicinity of English Bay. This is an event for both new and seasoned Strum sailors.

DIV-0 (LONG COURSE)
RVYC WES PRO John Culter has agreed to run a 2026 RVYC Wednesday Evening Series long-course for Div-0/Cruising fleet. John said he “will take Div-0 seriously, if Div-0 takes WES seriously.” This means we need 3 or more boats racing to protect this division.

Dinner is served at the RVYC Clubhouse after racing. Typical specials include,
$10 Chicken Wings
$15 Nachos
$18 Hamburger platter
$25 BBQ Buffet w/dessert
Plus the regular menu.

DIV-0 (UPPER DECK TABLE)
The Div-0 Long-Course skippers are organizing a reserved communal tale (10 boats with 10 crew equals 100 people) on the Upper Deck of the RVYC clubhouse for crew 19+ years old (all ages downstairs).

STRUM
STRUM (Sep-Jun RACE MODE)
Strum will be in race-mode (tuff-luff head foil/no cushions/light ship) every year September-June (Salish Sea-Round Bowen); These Wednesday Evening races will be with racing jibs (horizontal battens for Tuff-Luff) which need to be de-boned and folded after racing.
+
STRUM (Jun-Sep CRUISE MODE)
Every year after (Jun13/26) Round Bowen, Strum will switch to Cruising-Mode (furling jib, spinnaker sock, sofa cushions on); These Wednesday Evening races will be using the #3 furling jib (with vertical battens), and the A2 or A5 in the spinnaker sock. This configuration allows us to furl the jib (at windward mark/over night), and "snuff" the spinnaker (after finishing off the breakwater & dropping into the forepeak). That leaves a quick running rigging de-rig, so we can bolt to our "Div-0 Table" for the WES BBQ dinner. Please, no wet sails, clothes, gear on cushions.
