Points for Discussion

1. Regional Security: The war is no longer contained. With operations in Lebanon and retaliatory strikes reaching across the Gulf States, the risk of a much wider conflict is real. We’ll discuss the breakdown of regional stability and the impact on civilians.
2. Canada’s Geopolitical Future: Prime Minister Carney’s government is being put to the test. Between managing the evacuation of thousands of Canadians and trying to find a diplomatic path in a conflict where we weren't even consulted, Canada’s influence as a "middle power" is under a lot of pressure.
3. The Economic Impact: The effective closure of the Strait of Hormuz is causing massive headaches for global trade.

• Energy: We’re seeing a major disruption in oil and gas supplies, which is driving up costs across the board.
• Agriculture: The Gulf is a major source of the world’s fertilizer. With those shipments stuck behind a blockade, farmers in Canada and elsewhere are facing a huge jump in costs just as they start spring planting. This is a direct threat to food prices later this year.

This is an informal, "no-slides" night for open conversation. Whether you’re a student, a professional, or just someone concerned about where things are headed, we want to hear your perspective.

Admission is $15 and includes one basic drink of choice (e.g., house beer, wine, or pop). Guests are welcome to order food and more drinks from the menu and cover their own tab.
