About this Event
We have an awesome cast for this month's VGDS! With developers of Slay the Spire 2, YAPYAP and Goodnight Universe. Hope to see you at VFS on April 29th - First talk starts at 6pm.
Daniel Beaulieu is a game developer and animator originally from Saskatchewan with over a decade of experience in both film and interactive storytelling. After working as an animation director on series for Disney and Netflix, Daniel shifted into game development, where he created Boreal Tenebrae, a horror adventure released on Steam, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch. He served as Art Director at Nice Dream Games, creating Goodnight Universe (Tribeca and SXSW Sydney award winner), and is currently an artist at Sunset Visitor working on their unannounced project.
Marlowe Dobbe is an award-winning illustrator and game developer with a love for games sheβs fostered since childhood. In 2016, she started attending PIGSquad events in Portland and has been illustrating and animating for games ever since. Previous projects of Marloweβs include Dicey Dungeons, Floppy Knights, and a variety of small personal projects on itch.io. She is currently working as Art Director at Mega Crit Games.
Jonathan Ng is a Game Designer and Marketer for Maison Bap and contributed to the production and launch of YAPYAP, the co-op wizard voice-casting game, and BAPBAP, a MOBA roguelike party game. Jonathan focuses on market data-driven research and how to marry game mechanics with marketability in order to produce viral games. He was previously the creative and development lead for E-EXIT, the largest escape room chain in Canada, as well as a content creator on YouTube, Twitch and TikTok, and he utilizes these past experiences to guide him in both video game development and marketing.
Event Info: Volunteers will check you in at the building entrance. Pizza will be provided at the event, but please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions when buying your ticket.
NOTE: The event will be at Vancouver Film School's campus at 151 W Cordova Street (Theatre 106)
