Class Day & Time/Día y hora de clase: Tuesdays and Thursdays / Martes y jueves, 6pm - 7:15pm y/and 7:30pm - 8:45pm.

About the Course:

The CWC Jackson Community English as a Second Language (ESL) Course is a 10-week program designed for students who want to improve their general English language skills for work, everyday life, and college-level courses. The Community ESL Course will have two co-instructors to meet the needs of beginner/intermediate and intermediate/advanced learners. The course uses the Intercambio curriculum, and students will participate in pre and post-course testing to help track progression and learning outcomes. Open to all, no prerequisites.

El curso de inglés como segundo idioma (ESL) de la comunidad de CWC Jackson es un programa de 10 semanas diseñado para estudiantes que desean mejorar sus habilidades generales del idioma inglés para el trabajo, la vida cotidiana y cursos de nivel universitario. El curso comunitario de ESL tendrá dos co-instructores para satisfacer las necesidades de los estudiantes principiantes/intermedios e intermedios/avanzados. El curso utiliza el plan de estudios del programa "Intercambio" y los estudiantes participarán en pruebas previas y posteriores al curso para ayudar a realizar un seguimiento de la progresión y los resultados del aprendizaje. Attendance Expectations: Students are responsible for attending both Tuesday AND Thursday classes each week. Please ensure that this will fit with your work schedule. If there is a conflict with the Fall term, we will offer CESL in September 2026 (Fall semester).

Theresa Brunker, an English language instructor at Central Wyoming College, is committed to closing our community's educational and opportunity gaps through meaningful cross-cultural relationships both in and out of the classroom.

Theresa has an MA in Teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) and a BA in English/French. Originally from Minnesota, she grew up adventuring in the Boundary Waters where outdoor experiences helped shape her character, build perseverance and helped her discover her inner strength. She and her husband have three young-adult children who have been hiking, biking and skiing in the Tetons since 2005. Theresa is passionate about the transformative power of communing with our natural environment and wants to ensure that these experiences are accessible to all.

David Ley is a native Spanish speaker with a B.A. in Spanish Language from Principia College, with a focus on grammar, translation, and literature from Spain and Latin America. He has taught Spanish to students from middle school to college, creating engaging and culturally rich lessons. His experience includes teaching at Berkeley Hall School in Los Angeles and tutoring at Principia College. He has also worked as a Bridge Coordinator at Central Wyoming College, where he supported first-generation and Spanish-speaking students, taught a college success course, and facilitated ESL enrollment. His teaching style is flexible, inclusive, and centered on real-world communication.

David Ley es hispanohablante nativo y obtuvo una licenciatura en Lengua Española por Principia College, con especialización en gramática, traducción y literatura de España y Latinoamérica. Ha impartido clases de español desde secundaria hasta la universidad, creando lecciones atractivas y culturalmente enriquecedoras. Su experiencia incluye la docencia en Berkeley Hall School en Los Ángeles y tutorías en Principia College. También trabajó como coordinador de puentes en Central Wyoming College, donde apoyó a estudiantes hispanohablantes de primera generación, impartió un curso de éxito universitario y facilitó la matriculación en programas de inglés como segundo idioma (ESL).
