Burn all that winter fuel out of your boat on a fun/Poker run in Pool 26. Actually get out and put some miles on them boats. Make 5 stops within about a 4 mile radius if wanted so not so fuel efficient guys can come play. Rough plan so far: Meet up at boathouse in the AM for food,fuel,ramp access if needed. Can get two cards at this stop first&last. Trying to get two beach stops like 521/522 & Two Branch. Other possible stops will be Yacht club(fuel,bar/food) uncharted marine (fuel) , kinders (pending docks), pirates(food/bar). 8 possible stops hopefully. We will also make it where card turn in you don’t have to be present for winner to be called. Just need cards turned in by 7pm that night. More information to come as it all comes together. This won’t be a fancy catered run but more just the boys (&gals) buzzing the boats and enjoying the local establishments. May need a volunteer for the beach stop either two branch or 521/22. I know this can get tricky if it’s a busy weekend so have to kinda play this by ear. EVENT UPDATE
Happy to say we have 7 confirmed stops (pending kinders but rumor has it the docks are out)
1. The Boathouse will be the start stop location for card hand in. Remember you do not have to be present if you want to do the poker run drop the cards off and enjoy the rest of your day. I will set up a canopy and secure box to put cards in. I’m leaning on a 11:00am-11:30am sharp drivers meeting where we will go over the rules.(cash only)
2. 521 social club is going to be the ones to look for on 521/522 (tbd on which beach) this will be a fun stop here but the beach will fill up fast if it’s a sunny Saturday just a heads up.
3. Sawmill Riverside Grill has confirmed a stop. I’ll have have cards behind the bar. Go checkout the new restaurant, have some lunch and meet the crew.
4. Uncharted marine will be a stop at the fuel pump. Top off your tanks and grab all your HydroSeams apparel here.
5. TWO BRANCH - the blursday king Johnny p and Darren will be hosting the stop. Swing in for margaritas and Vegas bombs. Stay a while. I plan on staying here after grabbing cards.
6. Pirates of the Mississippi has confirmed. That’ll be the longest ride where you can really stretch the legs on the boats. Cards will behind the bar.
7. Fastjax Grocery will be a BONUS stop you can make on the way to the river. Grab your cold drinks,ice and boat sandwiches. Typically they open early on good weather days. (9:00am) You want breakfast they also have breakfast. I will update more sooner twards the day. If you do get a card from here just let me know when you register at boathouse that morning. Support local dive bars 🤘🏼.
8. Kinders is up in the air right now. Hopefully they will confirm with me in the next week or so if their docks will be ready in time.
Want to thank all the people who have reached out so far with help contacting locations and coming up with cool ways of handing out cards. Thank you Kayla Zeller for helping with the stops 🤘🏼. Thank you Tina Bohrer & Mike Mandis for the help with the beach stops these stops will be more difficult to get in and get out so I’d suggest if your getting cards at beaches do it early.
Just remember this isn’t a race but spirited driving is highly recommend . Just do it safe. Wear a life jacket and make sure K*ll lanyards are operational other than that let’s have some fun. 🚤😎🏖️
Poker hands: 50 rubees a hand. Can have multiple hands, 5 card poker, best hand wins. Still on the fence of if your limited to 5 cards or can make all stops and pic best hands. 80/20 split for 1st/2nd. Will set up a collection box at boathouse so if you want to drop off all your cards early and don’t plan on returning. Trying to make it where your whole day doesn’t feel like you’re on an itinerary.
