Heart disease remains the No. 1 killer of women—even here in Wisconsin. Nearly half of women over age 20 live with some form of cardiovascular disease (CVD), and life stages like pregnancy and menopause can increase risk. Yet only about half of women know heart disease is their greatest health threat.
But here’s the truth: health is personal. It’s not just numbers and tests—it’s feelings, focus, balance. It’s life. And what it isn’t—is fair. Heart disease unfairly targets women. For decades, women have been left out of research, testing, treatment, and funding. That ends with us.
On February 13, the Madison Go Red for Women Luncheon at Monona Terrace will unite our community to change the story. Attendees will have the chance to build meaningful connections, discover valuable health resources, browse unique silent auction items, and gain expert insights on important women’s health topics—such as how menopause can impact heart health. Together, we’ll be inspired by a powerful survivor story and join forces to raise awareness, fund lifesaving research and empower women to take charge of their heart health. Because when women stand together, we are unstoppable.
For more than 20 years, Go Red for Women has been a trusted partner in women’s health—walking hand-in-hand with women through every age, stage, and season of life. And thanks to champions right here in Madison, we’re building a future where every woman is seen, heard, and counted.
Join us for an inspiring event, hosted by WKOW Evening News Anchor Amber Noggle.
A heartfelt thank you to our leading sponsors— including Quartz, American Family Insurance, Zimbrick, WKOW, and BRAVA Magazine—for making this life-saving campaign possible.
Let’s Go Red, Madison—because every woman deserves a healthy heart.
