2026 Bagged Compost Pick Up For NYC Residents - Western Queens

Registration for Wednesday events opens two weeks before each event. Registration for Saturday events opens on the Monday, 12 days before the event.

DO NOT REGISTER FOR MORE THAN ONE TICKET. WE WILL REMOVE DUPLICATE REGISTRATIONS.

Thanks for your interest in picking up bagged compost at our 2026 Giveback Event Series at the DSNY Western Queens Compost Giveback Site at Luyster Creek.

NYC residents who register are eligible to take up to ten 40-pound bags of free Big Apple Compost made from your food scraps and yard waste.

On the day of the event:

• Bring your ID

• Limit ONE ticket per person. If carpooling, each person must bring their ticket and present ID showing a distinct NYC address.

• Do not arrive before the listed pick up start time.

• Residents only. Commercial vehicles will not be serviced.

• Be prepared to load bags of compost into your own vehicle
