2026 4-H Summer Agriventures Ages 8+

We are excited to offer the full Randolph County 4-H Summer Agriventures for Summer 2026! We look forward to seeing our repeat families and meeting our new ones.

4-H Summer Agriventures are educational programs sponsored by Randolph County 4-H to assist youth in developing essential life skills while having fun!

Participants must also enroll in 4-H online and enrollment must take place prior to attending their first session.

Special Notes:

• Each participant must have their own 4-H enrollment.
• Refunds will only be offered at the discretion of the 4-H Agent. If a class is canceled for adverse weather, it will be rescheduled at the convenience of the agent.
• Persons with disabilities and persons with limited English proficiency may request accommodations to participate by contacting Allison Walker, 4-H Agent, at 336-467-2927 or [email protected] by June 1, 2026.
• Water and snacks will be provided at each program.
• All youth must enroll in 4-H to attend classes (choose member at large for club). Enrollment is free, but is required before participating. During enrollment, you will be asked if you understand and agree to abide by the North Carolina 4-H Youth Development Program Liability Waiver, Assumption of the Risk, Photo & Media Release, and Indemnification Agreements. Info: As 4-H’ers explore Tiger World, they will keep their 'Head' in the game to learn cool animal & conservation facts, use their 'Heart' to connect with their rescue stories, and see how 'Hands' are used every day to keep these animals healthy and happy! We will have a parakeet experience and play putt-putt! Participants will need to bring money to buy lunch on the way home. NEED to bring money for lunch or a bagged lunch. Please bring sunscreen and/or wear a hat and closed-toed shoes.

Info: Join us for a one-day immersive adventure into the secret world of honeybees! From the "waggle dance" to the science of pollination, we’re diving into the hive to discover why these “busy bees” are our planet’s SUPERHEROES!

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Info: It’s time to get popping! Join us as we explore the life cycle of popcorn from the farm to your favorite movie theater. We’ll learn the secrets of how it grows, watch the science of the pop in action, and spend the day inventing our own gourmet seasonings. Sweet, spicy, or savory—what will your signature flavor be? Don't miss this 'ear-resistible' day of 4-H fun! Snacks, drinks, and lunch will be provided.

Info: Do you have a 'knead' for speed? Join our baking workshop to learn the ropes of the kitchen and bake up a storm. Once the treats are out of the oven, the gloves come off for our Decorating Contest! Show off your artistic side with sprinkles, swirls, and style. It’s hands-on, highly delicious, and a little bit competitive. Let’s see if you can take the cake! Snacks, drinks, and lunch will be provided.

Info: Ready to de-stress with some digital design? Our Makerspace Mindfulness camp is the ultimate chill-out zone for ages 8+. Design and 3D print your own Zen garden accessories while learning 'Hero Habits' for managing stress and staying focused. From CAD software to sand-raking, it’s a hands-on journey into a calmer you. Come for the tech, stay for the Zen!

Info: Think you can out-code the course? Our 8-and-up crew is taking over the robotics lab with Sphero! Come learn the secrets of block-based coding to make your bot roll, spin, and flash. We’ll be building custom tracks, testing our 'pilot' skills, and seeing who can program the ultimate robot run. It’s hands-on tech that moves at the speed of light—don’t get left in the dust!

Info: The sun is out, but the 'snow' is on the craft table! Come celebrate the winter holidays in July with our 4-H family. We’ll be joined by a guest artist to teach us the secrets of making beautiful ornaments. It’s an all-ages holiday bash featuring summer vibes and winter crafts. Wear the flip flops, stay for the frosty fun, and take home a handmade holiday masterpiece! (OPEN TO ALL AGES)

We’ll start by observing the precision techniques of a master—learning the secrets of the perfect rice, the sharpest cuts, and the balance of flavors. Then, it’s your turn at the rolling mat! You’ll learn to spread, layer, and roll your own custom creations. From 'California style' to your own signature designs, come master the craft of the roll

Info: Go behind the scenes of the beef industry in this all-access 4-H intensive. We’re starting at the source to learn about cattle health and farm-to-table logistics, then moving into the lab to master essential food safety protocols. The grand finale? A high-speed culinary competition! Students will use their knowledge of cuts and cooking techniques to create a masterpiece for our panel of judges. Discover the science, the safety, and the skill behind every bite! Snacks, drinks, and lunch will be provided.

Info: Get behind the needle and take control! Our 8–12 year olds are taking over the sewing machines this summer. Join us for a high-energy workshop where you’ll learn to navigate the machine, master the straight stitch, and walk away with a custom project you made yourself. No more slow hand-sewing—it’s time to power up your creativity. Space is limited, so grab your 'driver's seat' today! Snacks & lunch will be provided.

Info: OPEN TO AGES 13+. The future is being written in code—are you ready to write your chapter? This 13+ workshop takes you behind the screen to see how modern apps are built. Master the basics of interface design, user flow, and digital logic as you build a custom app from the ground up. Get the skills, get the experience, and get ahead in the world of tech. Disclaimer: We are not responsible if your app becomes the next global sensation and you become a teen tech mogul. (Actually, we’d be pretty proud.) Snacks & lunch will be provided.

Info: Don't throw it away—sew it away! Join our 8-12 crew for the ultimate recycling mission. We’re taking empty feedbags and giving them a second life as custom carry-alls. Learn the 'ins and outs' of machine sewing with industrial materials and walk away with a rugged, water-resistant bag that’s as unique as you are. Grab your machine and let’s get flipping! Snacks and lunch will be provided.

Info: (OPEN TO ALL AGES) Ready to test your skills one last time this summer? We’re trading our tech and threads for bowling shoes and putters! Come join the whole 4-H crew for a day of friendly competition. From the 'Gutter Ball Gurus' to the 'Mini-Golf Masters,' there’s a place for everyone. Let's see who can conquer the course and clear the pins at our final summer blowout! Snacks, drinks, and lunch will be provided. Bring socks for bowling and wear a hat and/or sunscreen for putt-putt.

Info: Get ready to meet the masters of disguise! We’re visiting the Reptile Zoo for a day of slithering, sliding, and scaly fun. Come face-to-face with exotic reptiles from around the world, learn what makes them tick, and discover why these 'cool' creatures are so important to our world. Info: Ready to grow your own tiny forest? Our Succulent Workshop is the perfect place to get your hands dirty! Learn how to plant, style, and care for your very own succulent garden.
