2025 Chorkor Walkathon

Details:

Lace up your sneakers and join us for the Chorkor Walkathon, on Saturday, May 17th, 2025, starting at 9:30 a.m. at Mooney's Bay park in Ottawa! This fun-filled event is perfect for all ages. Whether you're a seasoned walker or just looking for a leisurely stroll, this walkathon is for you. Enjoy the fresh air and great company as we come together to support a fantastic cause. Specific starting location in the Mooney's Bay Park will be shared directly with registrants this summer.

Your registration includes:

• Participation in a Scenic ~5K Course: Enjoy a beautiful walk (or run) through one of Ottawa's finest parks. Consider inviting friends and family to register and join you to make it even more memorable!
• Support a Great Cause: Your $50 registration fee contributes to a meaningful cause. You can also encourage others to sponsor your walk/donate on your behalf. Your participation helps provide education and career opportunities to students who may not otherwise attain them. You can even start a team with friends, family, or work colleagues, and get more people to donate for this great cause!
• Complimentary Snacks and Refreshments: Enjoy free snacks to keep you energized throughout the event. We will offer free water bottles, but please consider bring a reusable bottle to reduce our environmental footprint.
• Unforgettable Memories: Create lasting memories and capture moments that you won't soon forget!

Our promise:

100% of the proceeds from the walkathon will go to support underprivileged students in Ghana, such as from Chorkor Presby Elementary School.

Refund Policy:

Thank you for your support and understanding as we strive to make this event a success for everyone. Please note that our walkathon operates on a no-refund policy. However, the safety and well-being of our participants are our top priorities. In the event of severe weather conditions (e.g., risk of tornados or violent winds) on the day of the walkathon, the event will be postponed to a later date, and your registration would remain valid for the new date.

We are proud to share that 100% of the $50 registration fees (this excludes the additional ~$5 processing fee from Eventbrite) goes directly to supporting underprivileged students in Ghana (including the students from Chorkor). Your contribution makes a significant impact, and we appreciate your cooperation and generosity.
