Nature Book Week is almost here! From 14–20 October there is a series of exciting nature storytelling events for all ages. We’re kicking off the week of nature storytelling on 12 October at Harry Hartog Bondi Junction! Join us for the winners announcement of the 2024 Karajia and Environment Awards for Children's Literature, as well as for a drawing workshop with Sami Bayly and storytime with Zindzi Okenyo.
All of the events happening at the bookstore are free, but space is limited. Please RSVP at the link above to indicate which of the three events you'll be attending. We encourage you to come for the whole thing if you can.
2–2:30pm: Past Environment Award for Children’s Literature winner and current shortlisted author Sami Bayly is hosting an illustration workshop for all ages. Sami will lead a few drawing activities, including a step-by-step directed line drawing of an animal from her book.
2:30–3pm: Join us as we announce the 2024 winners for the Karajia and Environment Awards for Children’s Literature. We’ll have guest speaker and judge Zindzi Okenyo joining us!
3–3:30pm: Zindzi Okenyo will do a read aloud from the shortlisted titles of 2024 Karajia and Environment Award for Children’s Literature.
