The 1896 Classic Marathon Race Revival is a street unsactioned fixed gear race that takes place along the Marathon route.
It is in celebration and memoriam of the epic bicycle race that took place during the first Modern Olympics held in Athens in 1896 and organised bi-annually (every two years) by 48:17 Athens.
It is open to all amateur cyclists of all levels.
- fixed gear bikes only
- riding in traffic
- aprox 75klm
- helmets etc mandatory
- race at your own risk
- "race to participate and not win" ethos
- use of GPS app during race recommended
- podium, prizes, after-party
Registration:
-15euros to race/participate (includes gxp route+goodie bag)
- you can register online or at the shop or before the event
