The celebration will feature parade floats inspired by the beloved characters, scenes, and themes from Twain’s classic novel, all brought to life by local organizations, schools, and community groups. From whitewashed fences to river adventures, spectators can expect a lively, nostalgic tribute to Hannibal’s most famous literary legend.

This milestone event honors not only the novel’s enduring legacy but also Hannibal’s rich cultural heritage as the boyhood home of Samuel Clemens, better known as Mark Twain. Families, literature lovers, and parade-goers of all ages are encouraged to attend and enjoy this historic celebration.
Registration Information
Groups interested in participating with a float, marching unit, or performance entry are encouraged to register in advance.

• Entry Fee: A tax deductible donation to The Mark Twain Museum of at least $10 in cash or check to continue the legacy.
• Float Requirements:
o Entries must be family-friendly and themed to The Adventures of Tom Sawyer or Mark Twain’s works.
o Safety guidelines and lineup instructions will be provided upon registration.
o Registration and staging will be done in the Save A Lot/Family Dollar parking lot.
