About this Event
Welcome to 12 Frames, the monthly meet-up for film & TV pros, artists, and storytellers who would rather make something than just network.
Stop "Networking." Start Animating.
Tired of industry mixers where you swap LinkedIn profiles and talk about "the hustle"? Welcome to 12 Frames, the monthly meet-up for film and TV professionals, artists, and storytellers who would rather make something than just talk about it.
The Concept is Simple: We gather at a pub, coffee shop, or studio, grab a drink or a snack, and create a collaborative animated short film in a single night.
How it Works (The Animated Exquisite Corpse):
- 15 Minutes / 12 Frames: Everyone gets 12 sheets of numbered animation paper and a time limit to draw a sequence.
- The Hand-off: You pass your work to the next person, who picks up where you left off. You never know where the story is going next.
- The Aftermath: After the event, we compile the frames. Within a week, the film is live, and you have a new credit to add to your IMDb!
Open Source Creativity: Every frame and the final animation is released into the Public Domain via Creative Commons Zero (CC0). We believe in making art that belongs to everyone.
Who is this for?
- Animators & Illustrators: Stretch your creative muscles without a client brief.
- Live-Action Pros: Directors, Producers, and Crew getting back to the "play" of filmmaking.
- Creatives & Storytellers: Anyone wanting to meet like-minded people in a low-pressure, high-fun environment.
No experience is required. Whether you’re a Disney-level pro or haven’t picked up a pen since primary school, your frames are part of the story.
The Goal: Meet your next collaborator, have a laugh, and leave with a film credit.
Grab a pen. Let’s see what you can do with your 12 Frames.
