We are proud to host a week-long exhibition on the Lowestoft to Yarmouth Railway, presented by the Lowestoft Central Project and the Wherry Lines Community Rail Partnership and Gorleston Library Friends. Originally opened in the early 20th century, the Lowestoft to Yarmouth line played an important role in connecting coastal communities and supporting tourism and local industry. Although the route was closed to passengers in the mid-20th century, it remains an important part of the area’s railway heritage, with ongoing interest in its history and legacy.
The exhibition will be open to the public every day from Monday 1st June to Friday 5th June in our Carnegie Room, named after the historic Gorleston library that once stood on this site.
