Still Depths
Still Depths is a Vancouver-based performance and recording project formed in Calgary in 2019 by Brendan Chiu, Megan Rollinson, and Justin Perdomo. Their sound fuses pummeling noise rock with tongue-in-cheek, angular vocalizations, embracing sonic maximalism that shifts between Hella-inspired math rock disorder and driving post-punk rhythms.
Blending the raw intensity of punk with electro-acoustic experimentation, Still Depths weaves together distorted guitars, screaming vocals, field recordings, and unconventional sound objects. Their live performances are a controlled chaos of feedback-laced energy, hard-hitting drums, and dynamic tonal progressions, building toward cathartic climaxes.
On record, the band explores a wide sonic range from the noisy electronic atonalism of Animate Feelings to the more melodic songwriting of Mysty. Independently, they have released two full-length albums, Best Plan for Your Life and Pioneers Eat Dirt, as well as a collection of singles.
Still Depths has shared the stage with Sasami, Gustaf, Crywank, Bootlicker, and Wombo, and more recently joined Preoccupations on tour, establishing their place in the underground music scene with their unpredictable, high-energy performances.
