Wet Cane Luminary Dove Workshop (2 mid-week sessions 3/19 & 3/20)
Age 18+
Unleash your creativity and learn how to build a beautiful luminary using the wet cane technique in a two-day class!
You must attend both sessions to complete your project, with the potential for additional work needed in the studio afterward as well (with support from studio volunteers).
All supplies included.
Schedule
- Day 1: 5-8pm (3/19): Choose from 2 dove patterns. Learn how to cut, shape, and staple cane onto plywood to build your pattern. The cane must then dry overnight.
- Day 2: 5-8 pm (3/20): Learn how to glue cane and remove your design from the board. You will then structurally build out your design, install lights, and add structural and decorative layers of paper to enhance your design.
All materials provided: Cane, clippers, X-Acto knife, staple gun, hot glue gun, needle-nose pliers, LED lights, tracing, and Mulberry paper. Student must be able to use a hand operated staple gun and removed staples with pliers. No experience necessary.
