If you've been wanting to bridge the gap from day-tripper to self-sufficient coastal explorer, this is the course that gets you there.
Officially, Paddle Canada says you can learn the Touring 1 curriculum in a single day. We completely disagree. We believe the only way to truly learn how to SUP camp is to actually go SUP camping.
So, we made the course better. We’ve turned this certification into a full weekend expedition up to the amazing Granite Falls. Instead of just practicing in a bay for a few hours, you are getting the official skills, the hands-on practical knowledge, and a real-world camping trip all rolled into one.
We will cover route planning, weather routing, packing a loaded board, and the core safety skills you need to confidently tour on your own.
🌅 Bonus: Maximizing the Weekend
We won't be rushing back to the launch on Sunday. To avoid fighting the afternoon wind, we are holding off our return paddle until Sunday evening when the water calms down. That means you get extra time at the falls to practice your new skills and soak up the weekend.
Whether you are prepping for your first solo overnight or just want to be a safer, more competent paddler on your day trips, this is the perfect stepping stone.
