Calling all Village of Oregon Residents!!! Would you like to create a beautiful native plant garden that supports pollinators, birds, and other wildlife? Join the Oregon Nature Alliance for a hands-on Native Garden Design Workshop and learn how to successfully plan, install, and maintain a native garden in your own yard.
This workshop serves as the kick-off to this year’s Oregon Nature Alliance S.H.A.R.E. (Simply Have Areas Reserved for the Environment) Native Plant Program, which helps Village of Oregon residents create new habitat through the use of native plants.
During the workshop, you'll learn:
🌼 The benefits of native plants for wildlife, water quality, and local ecosystems
🐝 How native gardens support pollinators and other beneficial insects
📐 Basic native garden design principles
🌱 Site preparation and planting considerations
Following the presentation, participants who live within the Village of Oregon will have the opportunity to design their own garden using unique 3D-printed native plant design tokens, creating a planting plan based on the plant species available through the S.H.A.R.E. program.
