Par labākajiem šašlikiem spriedīs šefpavārs Mārtiņš Sirmais un ēdiena kultūras pētniece Dr.art. Astra Spalvēna. Vērtēšana notiks labākajās Austrumeiropas tradīcijās, t.i. ar nesaudzīgu kritiku un strīdēšanos. Dalībniekiem ir visas tiesības žūrijai "dot pretī"!

Austrumeiropas dārza svētki ir daļa no Pasaules kopienu deju svētku pasākumu cikla ar kopīgu deju, kulinārijas un dziesmu svinēšana no Austrumeiropas līdz Indijai un atpakaļ. “Pasaules kopienu deju svētki” ir kultūras pasākumu cikls, kura mērķis ir ar starpdisciplinaritātes, mākslas un koprades instrumentiem veicināt trešo valstu pilsoņu sociālo un kultūras integrāciju Latvijā. Šo projektu līdzfinansē Eiropas Savienība: Patvēruma, migrācijas un integrācijas fonds (75%), kā arī Latvijas valsts budžets (25%).

Think your shashlik is the best? Come and prove it!
Gather your friends, family or colleagues and enter our Shashlik Competition with Added Arguing. Marinate your meat, fire up the grill, bring your secret recipe, and compete for the top prize.
Anyone is invited to register themselves and their team for the shashlik competition, start marinating meat, dust off their grill, pack it all in the car, and come and fight for first prize.
Your creations will be judged by chef Mārtiņš Sirmais and food culture researcher Dr. Astra Spalvēna, who will deliver their verdicts in true Eastern European fashion and unapologetically honest criticism. Contestants are warmly encouraged to argue back!

The Eastern European Garden Party is part of the Global Dance Jam series, where people will come together to celebrate dance, food and song from Eastern Europe to India and back. Global Dance Jam is a cycle of cultural events which aims to promote the social and cultural integration of third country nationals in Latvia through interdisciplinary, artistic and creative tools. This project is co-financed by the European Union through the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (75%) and the Latvian State Budget (25%).
